Inkout Tattoo Removal in Perth, WA

About Tattoo Removal, How it works.

If you have a tattoo you may be aware of the fact that tattoos are nothing more than ink deposited into the mid layer of the skin called the dermis.

The Ultralase laser tattoo removal machine is designed to rapidly deliver specific wavelengths of light to the skin for the purpose of removing unwanted tattoos. The rapid absorption of the laser light energy delivered by Ultralase penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the tattoo pigment. This causes the tattoo to be shattered into tiny molecules of ink, which are then removed by the body through its own natural filtration.

Tattoo removal is safe and effective and is performed using a specialised type of laser called Q-switched Nd:Yag.

Why do people want tattoos removed?

Many people get tattoos that they unfortunately regret having later in life. What seemed like a good idea at the time can sometimes become a problem later on. For some people having a tattoo that they no longer want can lead to psychological stress. For others it may mean difficulty in securing employment or going for a promotion, however, there are many others seeking to reduce or remove previous tattoos in order to make way for new and more modern designs.

How many sessions are needed?

Inkout can remove tattoos containing black, dark and light blue, green and red pigments within 6 - 8 sessions based between 4 - 6 weeks apart depending on the age and quality of the tattoo. Amature tattoos respond more quickly whilst older tattoos may take longer. We are able to treat a large variety of tattoos and all skin types safely.

Whats involved, what can I expect?

Inkout recommends the use of a local anaesthetic cream (Dr Numb or EMLA) for around 60min prior to your treatment. This should be applied generously and covered with Gladwrap which we will remove at the time of the treatment. We will use ice packs to cool the skin to help with the healing process. The treatment itself feels like a strong pricking or flicking sensation. Small tattoos are treated fairly quickly however sleeves and big back pieces may take up to an hour to treat.

Risk of side effects.

Occasional white spots may be seen but more often than not they repigment over time. Scaring due to blisters is uncommon however there is always the possibility that this may occur due to the nature of the treatment.

We do warn against trying to remove tattoos younger than 3 months old and would warn against treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

After your treatment we will apply Solugel to the affected area and we recommend that you reapply twice daily for the following 5 days after the treatment.

In many cases mild swelling may occur and later on in the treatments there may be some scabbing and the occasional blister.

What can I expect after my tattoo removal treatment?

Immediately after the treatment the tattoo will appear somewhat lighter in appearance. The surrounding skin may appear slightly red and sensitive, however this should subside within approximately 48 to 72 hours.

We recommend that you apply your own local anaesthetic cream 1 hour before each treatment.
